Description
Five or six years ago I painted a “landscape bowl” and hung it on the wall of my studio–not because it was technically correct but it “was somehow right,” authentic, conveying something resonant, a bowl made of the landscape as well as in it. This was the spirit in my mind as I worked on this series, each bowl different in materials, size and placement specific to the landscape background.
Landscape: a home base, inspiration, grounding continuity, abundance and nourishment in this time of change
Bowls: Gathering. Holding. Sustenance. Ceremonial. Sharing.
Materials used: acrylic and botanical inks and paints, acrylic
texture mediums, silk, cotton and wool threads dyed with plants and mushrooms, embroidery floss, momigami painted paper
