Paint Out 2026

July 14-18, Dana Gallery artists paint outside, en plein air, in and around Missoula. We call this Paint Out!

Preceding Paint Out, the artists send new paintings from home (Studio Work). Studio Work premiers First Friday, July 3, 2026.

Plein Air Work created during Paint Out is available to Paint Out Partners first, then available to the public beginning Thursday, July 23, 2026.

How do I Participate?

Partner

Our Partners are invaluable sponsors who make Paint Out possible.

As a Partner, you’ll enjoy a private dinner party with the artists, priority choice of the new plein air works, and a chance to win one of several appreciation paintings. Additionally, this year’s partners can enjoy a Sip and Paint lesson with Robbie Moore Thursday, July 16th.

To partner, you make a down payment of either $600, $900, or $1,200 toward purchasing a painting on Saturday at the Paint Out Party. Your down payment can go toward any work by our attending artists!

Tuesday July 14 & Thursday July 16: Contact Dana Gallery if you’d like help tracking the artists down as they “Free Range Paint” around Missoula and the Bitterroot Valley.

Friday, July 17: 3:00 – 7:00pm Whatever your age or experience level, you are invited to bring your own supplies to Council Grove. Set up like our artists, channel your inner Monet, and paint up a storm en plein air! (This is a self-guided painting experience)

Purchase

Friday, July 3: 5:00 – 8:00pm See all Studio Work displayed during the First Friday Art Walk.

Studio works are available for immediate purchase to all. Plein air works are reserved for Paint Out Partners, until they become available for public purchase Saturday, July 19th!
